| What's a little uninteresting about this game is that the "bad movies" are often pretty obscure. I think even a dedicated movie Sporcler is going to have a hard time even thinking of Finian's Rainbow, The Haunted and the Hunter, Rich and Strange, The Skin Game, Number Seventeen, Boxcar Bertha and Someone to Watch Over Me. A few stumpers, that's fine, but this quiz is interesting when the bottom-of-the-barrel movies are ones that everyone knows (Hook, Lost World, Lovely Bones, etc.), because then you're testing healthy movie recall against IMDb opinions (which is always a dodgy yardstick -- too bad there are reliable Rotten Tomatoes or Metacritic scores for these movies).
In short, more Ridley Scotts, fewer Hitchcocks. More directors whose worst movies were successful, not forgotten. |
