Need to correct the clue for FlashForward. It says 6 minutes instead of 6 months.

thanks for the heads up, man

No problem. Good quiz.

The Firefly description "unknown parts of the galaxy" seems a tad misleading, as it's all in one solar system.

I just went with the description of the show as offered on imdb

What a shame. All of these shows deserve six seasons and a movie!

I remember the season that "Black Donnellys" and "Studio 60" came out. Both brilliant shows that lost out because NBC got cold feet too early.

I want a boxed set of all episodes of all of these shows! Great Quiz! Too bad, you missed my favorite all time flop: When Things Were Rotten...a Robin Hood spoof!
Jun 8th, 2012 at 18:48 GMT
Wow, I watched 22 of these shows when they were on, and My So-Called Life when it MTV had it.
Jun 8th, 2012 at 19:48 GMT
@popestcyril: Oh, I remember that one! ("I'm innocent!" "Tell it to your Maker!" "Mel, I'm innocent!") Also loved "My Own Worst Enemy"--maybe for the sequel?
Jun 8th, 2012 at 20:05 GMT
Jake Foley is a computer technician...I can't believe I missed that. I mean...it's not like there isn't a BIG clue with the VERY FIRST WORD!

I always seem to get attached to the shows that don't last very long. Several from this quiz, plus Awake, A Year in the Life, Rubicon, The Chicago Code, The Nine, ... The list is very long. I've just about decided that TV execs don't really like me that much.

In celebration of my first published quiz (and with the great reviews and comments that have been coming in), I created a sequel. Check it out: http://www.sporcle.com/games/tripp1313/short-lived-shows-ii-revenge-of-the-show

So many good shows on here (I'm looking at you, Fastlane), yet crap like According To Jim and Real Housewives Of Whatever gets 6 or 7 seasons...

What about the failed British sitcom "Heil Honey, I'm Home" which featured Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun living a normal life in 1970s Britain? @ propellerhead, I thought I was the only one who remembered The Nine. That had a great pilot but the rest of the episodes were really bad.

The Cape: six seasons and a movie!
Jun 9th, 2012 at 02:16 GMT
Just 9 episodes of The Tick seemed extremely wrong to me.....completely forgot that for some reason they thought it would work as live action, even with Puddy involved.
Jun 9th, 2012 at 02:25 GMT
I actually really liked the cape. :(
Jun 9th, 2012 at 03:45 GMT
It really would've helped me if the answers had been listed alphabetically. It took me too long to read the clues and even when I knew the answer right away, I had trouble finding it.
Jun 9th, 2012 at 14:45 GMT
What about "Turn-On," the 1969 sketch comedy show that was cancelled 'while it was airing its first episode'? A lot of stations went to commercial break, and the show never came back on.
Jun 9th, 2012 at 21:18 GMT
WHY DO SO FEW PEOPLE KNOW FIREFLY?! That show is pure excellence.
Jun 10th, 2012 at 23:38 GMT
Firefly is the best show of the bunch and does not deserve to be here. Great job, FOX... you guys rock (/sarcasm)
Jun 11th, 2012 at 21:56 GMT
I'm surprised nobody's complained about there not being enough time. I don't mind, myself, but if there is going to be such a tight window for noodling these, I would have appreciated if the answers were at least in alphabetical order.

There was another short-lived show also called The Cape, about NASA.
