Cranberry sauce!! Thanks for not going the easy-joke route. I was so afraid of seeing french fries, soda, candy, the KFC Double Down, an Egg McMuffin, etc. The US is also home to a lot of sane, wholesome foods!

@thedpr: done. @Corydon: thanks for noticing - yes I did deliberately try to include a range of foods in current US cuisine, rather than all the fast food stereotypes, while focussing on foods either invented in or particularly associated with the USA.

Hm I never saw succotash look like that. Almost always saw it with just lima beans (ew) and corn. Learned something new today when I read up on Succotash! I am also now craving chowder...
