| It definitely seems odd to see Jamie; over here it's very much a boys' name (a pet form of James). Mackenzie wasn't normally used a first name here at all, girl or boy, until it came over from the US. It does seem odd though, because Mackenzie literally means 'son of Kenneth', so should really be a boys' name! It seems strange to me to give patronymic surnames such as Madison (son of Matthew), McKenna (son of Cionaodh) and Mackenzie to girls as first names. |
