These are from the individual year, not the overall decade lists, right? If so maybe mention it is based on that year, not the whole decade (since SSA does have separate decade lists).

They are from individual years, but I'll change it to whole decades. I must need my eyes tested - I completely missed the SSA separate decade lists! Thanks for pointing it out

Wow, it is odd Leslie is not here! Good quiz!

Leslie was in the quiz when it was done by individual year rather than decade, but narrowly missed out when I changed it.

Just to let you know you have Bonnie on here twice in the same decade, 1950s

is it odd for you, being from the UK, to see Jamie and Mackenzie on the girls list?
Oct 12th, 2011 at 19:09 GMT
It definitely seems odd to see Jamie; over here it's very much a boys' name (a pet form of James). Mackenzie wasn't normally used a first name here at all, girl or boy, until it came over from the US. It does seem odd though, because Mackenzie literally means 'son of Kenneth', so should really be a boys' name! It seems strange to me to give patronymic surnames such as Madison (son of Matthew), McKenna (son of Cionaodh) and Mackenzie to girls as first names.

Really surprised that certain names didn't make the list (Nellie, Jessie, Susie, Rosie, and especially Leslie). Amazing how making it whole decades rather than individual years can change that.

Excellent quiz, but really needs more time.
