Feedback welcomely received!

Fun game, but I think there are some alternatives you should consider accepting: egg roll/Easter egg roll, leg of lamb, Cadbury mini eggs/candy eggs.

^Thanks for the feedback. Alternatives added.

Fairly good, but lots of alternatives are needed. The egg rolling could be an Easter egg race. I'm not sure what a simnel cake is. Perhaps just a cake or is it at least a carrot cake? For roast lamb, just lamb and leg of lamb. Lots more.

^Simnel cake is a pretty common, traditional, British Mothering Sunday-Easter cake, made since medieval times. It's a type of light fruit cake with a layer of marzipan baked into the middle and another layer of marzipan and 11 or 12 marzipan balls on top, which represent the apostles (or Jesus and the apostles) minus Judas. The top of the cake is then lightly toasted. I have 'Easter cake' down as an alternative.

@kagomeshuko: leg of lamb is already in as an alternative. I did consider having just lamb as another alternative, but then everyone who guessed the spring lambs would automatically get roast lamb as well. Roast lamb is such a traditional Easter food in many countries, I can't leave it out. And live spring lambs are also such a well-known Easter symbol, I can't leave those out either! If more people want just lamb as an alternative for roast lamb then I'll add it in though.

I'm on the fence about this one. Some lovely pics, great color scheme and good alternates, but it's a really tough sell for some of the answers. The most frustrating for me were the decorated eggs and trying to spell crusi.. crucific... crucifixo... the one with the cross (but that's my sin, not yours!) This is very well done, a tough challenge for you to make and for us to play! Keep up the great work triplet!

Thanks for the EP and the feedback, MrChewyPoo! I'll try changing the picture for decorated eggs and see if that makes it clearer. On reflection, given that only 3% of people have guessed 'Easter garden' correctly, I'll change that to something a bit better-known. Easter gardens must be just a British (possibly Anglican) thing, I suppose - I never realised before that they might be unknown in America! 'Cross' on its own is accepted for crucifixion, by the way.

crucifixion really threw me. Anyway, can you please accept "pysanky" for the decorated eggs.

I never heard of Easter Eggs in all my life they should not be there because they have nothing to do with Easter

Your spots for the answers simnel cake/Easter ham are switched.
Mar 24th, 2013 at 22:25 GMT
@ahamm: oops, thanks for spotting that! I'll fix that now. @perun99: added, along with 'pysanka'.

i would never have worn that 'Easter bonnet". Was not familiar with that cake and guessed every kind of egg except for Cadbury. Otherwise, interesting quiz.
Mar 25th, 2013 at 09:56 GMT
@midnightlady: Easter bonnets seem to come in all sorts according to the images I looked at. I just picked one. If you give me the names of eggs that look similar to Cadbury mini eggs then I'll add them in as alternatives. The quiz already accepts 'mini eggs' and 'candy eggs'. 'Easter cake' is accepted as an alternative for the cake.

I have never heard of simnel cake, so I have learned something new! Thanks! I guessed "robin eggs" for the Cadbury eggs, as they are popular malted milk eggs here. I also guessed Good Friday and Calvary instead of the passion play, but that is a great picture! The only other one I missed was primroses, I kept wanting it to be jonquils! Thanks for the Easter puzzle.
