The only reason I got "Emil" is because I wanted to see if "Emily" made any significant gains as a male's name.

I can't believe the name Edgar is making a comeback

Edgar's a great name; means rich (or happy) spear in Old English. I'm hoping for Egbert as the next trendy name.

Sorry but I find any name rhyming with Bert ugly.

^ Except for Robert? That seems like the only one that stayed popular, unlike Herbert, Gilbert, Dilbert, Albert, Elbert, etc.

I find bert names ugly too, apart from Robert. Not sure why Robert is the only bert name to have remained consistently popular.

I know several hispanic men and boys named Edgar - I wonder if that's why it's moving up. Re: Robert - I think one of the reasons it stays popular is because it has a lot of nicknames, which makes it easier to pass down through generations such as grandpa goes by Bob, dad goes by Rob, son goes by Bobby.

Sporclitis - tried Elliot, Elvin, Estevan, Epstein, Elton, and several others, but couldn't think of Eric.
