Accept archduke ferdinand for June 28, 1914. Accept Saigon evacuation for April 30, 1975, The Lindbergh crossing the Atlantic, discovering DNA, MLK marching on DC, Man landing on the moon, release of Mandela from Prison, and Obama being elected are NOT infamous. They are just famous events, there is a difference.

Interesting choice of "infamous" events. Barry's election is in the same company as assassinations, bombings, and massacres.

Obama elected? What the hell is wrong with you. Obama is our president and will stay the way for at least 3 more years. Get over it.

I have to agree with joewhitey. Some of these events are more historic than infamous. I would consider the lindbergh kidnapping more infamous than the death of Lenin.

I got my dates from a Time Magazine source of all important dates and forgot my own title while adding my answers. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the feedback.

Black Tuesday was 1929, not 1928.

Correct your spelling on Tiananmen. Also, I personally think the fall of the Berlin Wall and the release of the Iranian hostages belong in the 'historic not infamous' category. Maybe it's time to rename the quiz?

I don't think you really know what "infamous" means.

@peterlockwood87: Since it's an American place, wouldn't it be Harbor regardless?

I'm pretty sure it's Pearl Harbor regardless

Well how come Americans insist on calling it Sydney HARBOR and not Sydney HARBOUR (as Aussies use the 'U'!?) With that, you must accept Pearl HarboUr!

"Fall of Saigon" should be accepted, I think. And perhaps "MLK Assassination".

You should accept "stock market crash" and "start of great depression" for "Black Tuesday." Also, it would make it a little easier if the events were listed chronilogically.

Why is establishment of PRC infamous? AS others suggest, maybe quiz needs new title. Should accept 'Tiananmen massacre'

How about Dec 6th 1917...just make sure you spell harbour with the u on that one. I'm sure it will make the debate on that subjct so much more fun.

Stupid quiz. D-Day was not an infamous event, unless you were a Nazi.

Or a relative of one of the many american soldiers who died that day.

Yes, it was sad for those who died. But in the big picture, it was a major step towards the liberation of France and the collapse of the Third Reich.

if you have "last names acceptable" on a quiz like this, that means we get answers with "crash", "crisis" and "assassinated"

robert kennedy assassinated and martin luther king jr. assassinated should both work but don't
