Belize, Suriname, Guinea-Bissau, and Guyana are not islands. Cook Islands and Niue are not countries, and Papua New Guinea is not small. WTF?

If this is actually an organization that recognizes Niue, Cook Islands, Belize, Suriname, etc. then you need to change the title to reflect that. I was ripping my hair out trying to think of any other island nations.

some members are not islands. Others are not separate countries. Others are not small. Some small island nations (Bahrain, Cyprus, Malta)are not members. Strange organization.

From the organization's official website: "The Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS) is a coalition of small island and low-lying coastal countries that share similar development challenges and concerns about the environment, especially their vulnerability to the adverse effects of global climate change." (http://www.sidsnet.org/aosis/about.html) That should answer any questions about the seemingly illogical membership list.

Why don't they have their own domain name? just curious... It must be a organization with small political clout.

I understand that you're referencing a real political group, but you need to say in your instructions that some of the answers are not sovereign nations recognised by sporcle (Niue and Cook Islands).

The main purpose of this organization is to combat global warming, as these island states are typically low lying and at a higher risk than most from feeling the affects. It has nothing to do with poverty, although many of them are among the poorest incidently.
