You left out the R in Turkmenistan. You also need to accept just Denmark, without having to type the Greenland part. Otherwise a very good and interesting topic for a quiz.

It seems impossible that there is no population of grey wolves in Austria, given its distribution in Europe. I think usuing Wikipedia as a source makes the basis of this quiz more anecdotal than accurate. For example, google image "grey wolf distribution."

Well I searched for several HOURS and had several references, yet there they all were (and then some) on the wiki references, they had a pretty exhaustive list of references. Normally wiki is not the best reference ...I get that, but this was an example where it was very well done. And if you checked (instead of rambled on about assumptions) you would find the grey wolf distribution never went into Australia that is unless you counted a cub scout award (http://www.scouts.com.au/main.asp?iStoryID=16586369)or a mining operation (www.greywolfgoldmining.com/) by that name! Sorry, they don't count

hahaha, you said AUSTRIA I read Australia I admit when I'm wrong But look at the population, a whole 1 or 2 in neighboring Switzerland, none in Liechtenstein. It can make perfect sense there are none in Austria

...and while your quick look-see at the range of the species might indicate they live in Austria, It would also indicate they live in Japan (and other places) where they are extinct. and further investigation: http://www.iucnredlist.org/apps/redlist/details/3746/0 Regionally extinct: Austria; Belgium; Denmark; Ireland; Japan; Luxembourg; Netherlands; Switzerland; United Kingdom

Your source actually only has data for the former state of Serbia and Montenegro so those 500 wolves would be divided between the two independent nations...I know you accept Montenegro as a possible answer but it's misleading to just list Serbia in my opinion since they are separate countries.

that was hard to nail down accurately. Serbia was the easier portion of the answer while accepting Montenegro at the same time. I tried to take both. I suppose I could simply add both as is done with Norway/Sweden?

Great quiz (as you can imagine, I am a huge wolf fan). You seem to be missing a few countries though, based on this link- http://www.iucnredlist.org/details/3746/0. That is the IUCN which is, as far as I can tell, pretty much the most credible source for animal statistics. Hope this helps!

Maybe you could add Egypt and Ethiopia, as recently the so-called "Egyptian jackal" was discovered to be a subspecies of the grey wolf. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/01/110126171446.htm

Nice quiz, but missing quite a few countries (like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Nepal, Bhutan, North Korea, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, and Egypt).
