Unfortunately it turned into a "How many states can you name in 3 minutes" quiz, which for most typists will be all of them, as was with me. 2 minutes would definitely be better, although the problem is that the categories are so spread out that almost any state has a fair shot at being an answer that random guessing is still the best way to go.

I had two minutes and changed it to three after posting it, it was a rush for me to name them all in such a short time myself. I will change back to two for that reason you give (and why it was at 2 to start with) But others will have to really think it out before they simply start typing away.

Why does Virginia show up twice in the Turkey category? Once at 25 million, and as a bonus answer at 21 million?
Nov 1st, 2010 at 12:30 GMT
Fixed, I had to change columns around for some goofy bonus question reasons (the first grouping did not allow bonuses yet all others did???) anyways, in moving data around I made a mistake, thanks for pointing it out, it's fixed now.

the sporcle admins should really consider making a tool in game creation that would force quiz takers to answer each column in order
Nov 1st, 2010 at 20:22 GMT
THAT would be perfect! Answering in order would be impossibly difficult but answering for the entire field is more of a race to name states. It was pretty interesting and timely info (or so I thought) so I went with the best way we have possible to do this.

Even though Mass. is only up there once, let's not forget it's the state that supplied Thanksgiving as a whole :)

Sweet quiz, tomahaha! Hope it gets published.

@bmo1616 They celebrated Thanksgiving in Virginia two years before they did it in Massachusetts.

only 17, i just started randomly naming states, but i guess i wasn't fast enough... a couple like Pennsylvania i misspelled too
Nov 15th, 2010 at 13:56 GMT
Yeah, it's tough if you don't think it out in your head ahead of time. But more time would make it too easy so we are left with a bit of a race against the clock.

You need to fix your bonus answers. They need to be put at the bottom of the category or the end of all answers. It messes with the quizzes for some reason. Some answers have been guessed 0% of the time, even though I know I got a few of them.
Nov 17th, 2010 at 19:28 GMT
There was ONE typo on a bonus answer only. The rest of the bonuses are correct and no kidding the quiz shows zero percent answered, it only shows answers not bonuses. get it... BONUS. The one and only mistake was Colorado was mis-spelled under Sweet Corn (I had an "A" instead of an "O" at the end) but again it affected only ONLY that one bonus. Your statement that bonus answerS are wrong and you guessed "several" is a bunch of baloney my friend. ONE is not pluralized, you make it out as if the entire thing were screwed up. I admit to the single mistake that affected nothing of any importance, you must admit your errorS

What about Idaho? Its not a bonus answer and its been guessed 0%. Generally bonus answers don't show up in the results section. It seems like something is a little off.
Nov 19th, 2010 at 13:14 GMT
Yes, the results sure are messed up, the quiz is working and places like Idaho are showing up but not registering as far as percentages, sorry but that's not something I can fix, it's a Sporcle thing. My guess (and it's only a guess) is this is because of the number of bonuses for each category, multiple categories seem to mess up the results ...but not the quiz!!! It's working fine
Nov 26th, 2010 at 15:25 GMT
Bonus answers all have to be listed last when you enter in your data or it will mess up the percentages.
Nov 29th, 2010 at 17:19 GMT
as it was done! But the problem is in doing this per group, I can't add all bonuses last or they don't go to the correct grouping. Last works fine when you don't group as this is, and if not grouped it would be a haphazard mess! ...so we get incorrect percentages on the bonus questions only, hardly an issue to worry about???
Jan 14th, 2011 at 15:50 GMT
fyi, I found out on another quiz how to correctly group such bonuses. If interested... you add the letters ee to the last column but they MUST be at the very end of ALL answers. I had the ee bonuses at the end of each group! It doesn't matter that the bonuses are at the end and out of the grouping, it will still grab them and put them in order if done correctly. I am going to fix that now but here we are months away from Thanksgiving and the data is already "messed up" but to get as accurate as possible, I will make the fix!

I really thought Florida would have more. Nice idea for a quiz, 5 globes from me.
