Simply put, I don't believe the source.
The figures from China and South Korea are laughable. According to the linked page, China is not only the world's biggest source of porn revenue, it is also listed on the same page as one of the "Top Pornography Banning Countries".
Neither China nor South Korea are even in the top ten of the "Top Video Porn Producer" countries, again on the same webpage you link to. The US, it is claimed, has over 90% of the world's porn webpages.
So where exactly is this Chinese and Korean porn revenue coming from?
Let's say the same stats were about cars. That would be like saying that US made the most cars, sold the most car and had the most car dealerships, but Korea had per capita ten times the revenue in the Auto industry.
The source page just doesn't pass the smell test. That they are selling "Treating Pornography Addiction" and "Internet Filtering" products doesn't lend a whole pile of credence to their stats either. |
