Can you name the pokémon from generations I through V?
created by
tobley
Enter a code in the box below
Correctly named codes will show up below
Answers do not have to be guessed in order
Source:
Bulbapedia
Use the Flash like you would use Sporcle, and as you get more pokémon, you get better codes. When you give up, enter the code to submit your score. Getting all from a generation gives a code as well.

If you have trouble seeing all of the flash, try using full screen mode or move around the enter pane by dragging the top part (if only Sporcle had something like that too...). Let me know about any misspellings with the gen V pokémon (haven't played either game yet) or other random glitches. Enjoy!

Yay it's the full set! Every single one I missed/couldn't spell was in Gen V, so I guess I need more practice there. However, the "All Gen 5" code still appeared for me even when I didn't get all of them. As well, I might have been spelling it wrong at the time, but I was unable to get it to accept Reuniclus. Great quiz, I like the touch with being able to move the answer box. :D

@Ellix Thanks for finding those! Should be fixed now. @dolebanana Lots of Flash experience and lots of free time.

Very nicely done, however it does not seem to accept Alomomola, which meant I lost by one. :(

Hmm, couldn't get it to accept Alomomola, maybe a spelling issue? Also, would it be possible to invert the image function so that they were all silhouettes until guessed correctly, then turned to their full color sprite? That would up the difficulty slightly and then your reward at the end would be seeing all of them. Just a thought for an already very impressive quiz! Great work!

How... how did you do this? I mean, I know you said how you did this already, but... HOW DID YOU DO THIS?! I mean, I'm stunned. I couldn't care less about "Pokemon" (it and "Call of Duty" were the banes of my existence when I was the Gaming Editor), but this is stunningly amazing. I obviously didn't take the quiz, but you certainly deserve the 5/5 regardless.

Ha, I get something like 189 and felt like it was time well spent... and then I scrolled down to see "7 out of 20". I prefer the Flash score, hahah.
To paraphrase Comic Book guy: "That quiz was, without doubt, the BEST. QUIZ. EVER."

The only problem with this is that since there are SOOOO MANY POKEMON it takes so long to do this. Yet this quiz is still amazing just because of the way its made and that you actually got them all into one quiz. I commend you very much.

Is it bad that I got all 649 in an hour? I love the stuff that comes up when you type the codes!

Haha! I did it! Except it took me like 2 hours and I may or may not have cheated a little. Maybe I shouldn't be so proud of myself. 5 orbs for this unique format (and I love the code that you get after all 649 Pokemon)

Thought I would do better than 375 originally but then thinking about it, I know very, very few of the 4th and 5th gen so that isn't too bad I guess. Top, top quiz though. Very well done. 5/5!!

@brichards719 I assume whatever device you are using to take the quiz cannot display the Flash properly. Even without it, the game is still a pretty fun version of "guess the six character alphanumeric codes."

Awesome quiz dude! I've been waiting for someone to combine all 649 Pokemon into one quiz! The only two I could not get were Nidoran♂ and Nidoran♀, because when I try to input the symbols from outside sources, it just shows up as a "?" So if you don't mind me asking, is there any other way to type those two in...?

Okay, nevermind: I typed in Nidoran male and Nidoran female (which for whatever reason I didn't think of before: I tried like Nidoran (m)/Nidoran (f), Nidoran boy/Nidoran girl, etc.) and then I got 'em! :D

Do you think you could make a new one but replace all the sprites with their number? Then make the sprite appear once it has been guessed. I really want to do this again without knowing what they are!

I only cheated on one: Mandibuzz. And that's only because I only have White, so I never encounter them.

This is a pretty awesome quiz. My one complain is that the quiz doesn't accept non-letter characters, even if such a character is in the Pokemon's name. Farfetch'd, Mr. Mime, Porygon-Z, and Ho-Oh are not accepted, but Farfetchd, Mr Mime, PorygonZ, and Hooh are, despite not being the proper spellings of their names.

Took only about 30 minutes for Gens 1-4 and most of Gen 5, but the last three left (Frillish, Basculin, and Tynamo) took like ten minutes each. I remembered each of their Japanese names, but not the English ones! Anyways, this was a really great quiz, definitely a 5/5 :)
