For those of you out there who have never made a crossword puzzle from scratch, you really should try; this was actually a lot of fun to construct! One site that really helped me (that I also use for pretty much all of my word puzzle related Sporcles) is here -> http://www.quinapalus.com/matcher.html. It may also have a program that helps specifically construct crosswords, but I did not feel like figuring out how to install/run it.
Oh, and be sure to let me know if anybody can figure out the theme of the puzzle. It may be a bit tough...

@tobley: The flash portion won't appear (I get a blank space). I just tried to open your "State Quarter Puzzle", and that one DID open. Any suggestions?

Hmm... It is opening for me, and I am using the same hosting site as the quarter puzzle. A few people have taken the quiz at this point, so maybe it was just a temporary thing and will work for you now. If other people have the same issue, I will try to host it elsewhere.

If it is relevant, "Word Ladder Helper" (which used to work for me, and I've used in making games) isn't appearing either. If there is anything that might be wrong on MY computer (and if you have any notion what it might be), I'm all ears.

That one works for me too. Try a different internet browser and see what that does. If it still does not work, then I will see if changing the hosting site does anything.

I prefer not to use I.E., but do you know if there may be a particular cookie that I'd have to accept (I block many).

Well neither of those games use cookies (to my knowledge) and are inherently the same as the quarter puzzle, so there is no real reason one should work and the other not. In terms of using IE, I also would not suggest it, though it did (surprisingly) solve the problem for someone a while back.

OK. It loaded after sitting there for about 10 minutes. That was tough for me. I didn't finish it. But it was certainly very well constructed. Can you design an option which allows you to delete letters (if it is already there, I didn't catch it). I struggled with thinking of alternate cross-words once I put down one I realized was wrong. As always, great job, and ahead of its time, tobley!

The backspace key should work for deleting letters, but again, that may be some weird browser (or even OS) specific error that makes it not work. I am also not sure why it would take so long to load since it is only 20 KB.

Backspace works, I had been only trying the delete key. Perhaps mention the backspace in the instructions? Thanks; and sorry for tying up the comments section. I hope your game gets more plays!
