Not sure how I got the Gary Majewski comment to pop up, but... wow. Awesome.

...and a similar note tacked onto 2009 would not be unwelcome: "Hey, we're trying to forget about Willy Taveras!"

Since the prevailing decision from sporcle is that 1989-90 will be taken out of NL quizzes, I've moved them to my Reds lineup quiz for 1971-90. http://www.sporcle.com/games/tk925/reds_lineups2

How can 2009 Votto and 2010 Votto be at different percentages?

This game is pretty easy, once you've gotten all the Reds you know, just start naming Nationals players.

the best reds player of all time: Todd Walker! #12 forever!! i cheered for him so hard in that last year at that stadium that didn't look like bristol palin's lil brother made it. But seriously I was frackin 6 years old in 1991 and it's the only whole roster I got. What a collection of s***bags!!

@Hempick: It says on the info box that this quiz was created on September 28, 2009. Which means that people that took the quiz after it was created to just before Opening Day 2010 may have gotten 2009 Joey Votto, but could not have gotten 2010 Joey Votto because the 2010 lineup had not occured yet. Same for all of the other 2010 Reds players.

Seriously amazing the turnover, year to year in the 2000s. Particularly in the last couple of years. Darnell McDonald? And such memorable *cough* players as Alex Ochoa, John Nunnally, and Willie Green! I can't believe Hatteberg had a job here for 3 years.

Haha, Jason LaRue, Corey Patterson, and Ryan Freel. Three of the worst hitters of all time.

Freel hit .272 with a .357 OBP in his time with the Reds, that's hardly 'worst of all time.' His OPS+ with Cincy was 91, indicating that he was almost a league average hitter, despite having little power. And he was there for defense/speed anyway, not power.

Along with Eric Davis, Barry Larkin and Kal Daniels, Chris Sabo used to be THE MAN back in the day. And wtf ever happened to Daniels, anyway? I was sure he was gonna be the second coming of Tony Gwynn. I'm also surprised not to see Kurt Stilwell on this. R.I.P. Ryan Freel.
