Some others that I've heard frequently are torpedoes and bombers, but I heard them from people in the military and don't know where they come from.

Po' boys are not named as such because of the low cost of the sandwich. In 1929 during a streetcar strike, a former streetcar conductor turned restaurant owner would serve the streetcar workers these sandwiches, and the workers in his restaurant would refer to the men as "poor boys", which of course was shortened into "po' boy" with the Louisiana accent.

Thanks vitalstatistix, many of these have different theories as to where the name came from so I've included that as well.
