I've flown on Horizon a decent amount, but I never would have guessed that it was the biggest carrier in Portland. I guess they've expanded from the puddle-jumping days.

41% of flights out of JFK are JetBlue? Can that possibly be right?

This quiz taught me that Horizon is an airline. Glad I took it.

wayy too easy for a pilot and airplane enthusiast like myself. i am off to try and do one for international airports now. and @johnlk- yes, jet blue has a HUGE presence at JFK, their own massive new terminal and flights departing extremely often, probably just beating out delta and american (who also have their own terminals) in terms of percentage of flights. PS youre going to have to change the "continental" to "united" at the end of the year after the merger goes through!

I'm typically not one to complain about quizzes being too American centric, but sheesh at least include in the title that it's America only. There's absolutely no reason why this quiz wouldn't be better with world cities included.

Surprised that Delta only has 36% of Minneapolis. Back when Northwest was its own entity, it seemed like they covered 95% of the airport. Maybe it's gone down a bit now that Delta is in charge, but it still seems like they control more than a third of the air traffic out of the Twin Cities.

I knew a few from where I have flown/what I've heard and was actually very surprised at how some I just typed without even realizing I knew it. The rest I was just able to type American - Delta - United - US Air - Continental - Southwest - Jet Blue (in whatever order) until I got them all. Contemplated trying to figure out the two wildcards but decided why bother.

@johnnlk: JetBlue has a relatively new huge terminal there, so I believe it. Especially when you consider that US Airways goes to LGA mostly and Continental to Newark, that's a couple major carriers with very little (if any) going to JFK, so that will increase the %age for JetBlue.

@buppyspek: I thought so too; checking the source link says Northwest (36%), delta (19%), so I would say 55% is definitaly a more accurate number. also, I noticed that the regional carriers were counted separately (e.g., Delta has at least 70% share at ATL when counting Atlantic Southeast (Delta Connection))

I almost freaked out of my mind when JetBlue didn't work for JFK even though I came on it yesterday. Then I realized that I spelled Jet wrong.

Portland should accept Alaska as well as Horizon since they're essentially the same company. Also, the Mainer in me wants to request that you specify Portland, OREGON.

Jeez! I can't believe I got Portland! It took me a thousand guesses, and I live there. But I guess it makes sense... There are Horizon flights to Seattle every 30 minutes, and there are also a bunch to San Jose, and there are a lot of high tech people in Portland who go to San Jose a lot. But I'm half surprised that they didn't group Horizon with Alaska...

I agree with Endasil on this one - I got all pumped to start naming the biggest airlines of some countries with huge airports, and then realized I had to think of the few American ones I knew instead. It's still a good quiz though, and it would be cool if there was a more international version as well (if that data is available, of course).

Not sure how well this quiz would work internationally -- it basically would become "name the biggest air carrier for such and such country" -- eg, everyone would know that Paris is Air France, etc...
