	haha, i didn't see the 'song lyrics' and was sooo stumped as to what the theme was! I got all of them but British Beatlemania (couldn't figure out the Beatlemania part) but that was really fun.

	Once I got the first two the rest fell together. Since I lived through all the things Billy Joel mentioned in the song it had meaning to me. For someone who views Woodstock as part of ancient history---not so much.

	@C_IVLIVS_BACCVS: i am 24 and guessed the theme after unscrambling red china, the first word, as well as getting 100%. maybe i'm also too young? but the song was very popular in the early 90s and i LOVED it at the time (though to be fair, i always thought the line "trouble in the Suez" was "trouble in the SEWERS", and that it referred to the teenage mutant ninja turtles). regardless, other than homeless vets, beatlemania and maybe belgians in the congo which you might have to be familiar with the lyrics to figure out, the rest are major historical events of the 20th century. i loved this quiz! and if you're still confused... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFTLKWw542g

	Ha ha! I've always loved this song! To this day, especially in Sporcle quizzes, I can't think of North Korea and South Korea without adding "Marilyn Monroe" in my head :)

	i was looking at it, like red china, punk rock, joe dimmagio, wha? then i realized it was the song. i never looked at the link or theme, so it was fun having no idea what they had in common until i realized for myself. great idea for a quiz.

	@ras0723: THANKS A LOT! I already knew the melody, but I've never heard of the original lyrics. Here in Germany an elderly, but famous Comedian (Otto Waalkes) alienated the lyrics into "Wir haben Grund zum feiern" (= We'd like to party) - so many "Krauts" are knowing the melody, but only a few are knowing the original lyrics... 	I was so happy when I got "Bengalis in the Congo". I was then very disappointed when that was not the answer. Darn Flemish.
