Good quiz. Maybe not the most agreeable choices but it's a fun quiz to try to name them

Good quiz. Got 45 so could do with a little more time, but c'est la vie. Cannot believe Rashard Lewis and Gerald Wallace ain't on there, but that's the SportingNews' fault. Not yours. Nice one overall.

Interesting read on the results. I'm wondering why there's Nene and McGrady, but no Wallace or Al Jefferson.

yeah this is a very flawed list - also you should make clear whether current NBA stars mean they are currently stars or they are currently playing

Problems fixed. But I'm surprised A.I aint on there even though he's a spent force

As far as stars AI should be on here, as far as good Al Jefferson should be on here. Surprisingly the TWolves got something good in return for KG.

Andrew Bynum should not be on this list. David Lee and Gerald Wallace could use some love.

Michael Redd? Richard Jefferson? T-Mac? Nene? If Derrick Rose wasn't on here I would have sworn this list was made 5-6 years ago.

Agree with West. Anyways there are at least 10 players I would have replaced on this list with 10 other players that didn't make it.

Please add another minute to the quiz. Like everyone said, this list stinks, which reflects on how bad the Sporting News has become. Richard Jefferson isn't even the best Jefferson in the league. So many guys deserve to be on here instead of who they have.

Charlie Villanueva proves that you don't have to rebound, defend, take good shots and win to be a top 50 player. Maybe Kwame Brown will be on this next year

Wow this is an awful list. Shane Battier, Charlie Villanueva, Ben Gordon, Lamar Odom, Ron Artest and Hedo Turkoglu are on but David Lee, Gerald Wallace, Antwan Jamison, Stephen Jackson, Caron Butler and Chris Kaman aren't?

everyone is forgetting a huge piece that is on this list. Elton Brand? He plays just over 2 quarters a game this year and has been in a downward spiral for years

good quiz! Gasol ahead of Bosh, Durant, etc. is laughable.

I may be biased being from Toronto, but putting Yao Ming who barely ever plays ahead of Chris Bosh, who is leading or close to leading the league in double doubles boggles my mind!
Golden

Feb 3rd, 2010 at 23:05 GMT

How can Ming possibly even make a list of 'current' NBA stars when he will not play once this year? This is a terrible list... as many have said above. But just to further it... Michael Redd?? But no Bogut? Rose at 26th but Westbrook can't make it? McGrady in the top half but no Iverson anywhere? Ben Gordon???? But no Rip Hamilton. Charlie Villanueva but not David Lee. Jason Kidd but not Monta Ellis? Elton Brand but no Gerald Wallace? Gil Arenas but no Jamison or Butler? Nene but no Kaman? And how can Durant possibly be that low... he ought to be in the top 5 for MVP this year. The whole thing reads as though the writer kept forgetting whether he was trying to write a list of the top 50 players today (in which case McGrady is unforgivable) or the top 50 all time players still active (in which case the absence of Iverson is unforgivable). It may have been written by a large panel of people who ought to be qualified, but it makes you wonder how many of them get out to watch games very often.

a lot of people before me have many complaints that I agree with, but I just want to give a shout out to Rodney Stuckey, he deserves mention over a lot of the guys on this list, especially both Pistons chosen: Gordon and Villanueva.

bostnboy3, are you a retard, that would make him #5. Also, if it's "stars" why isn't Iverson on there? His game has diminished, but he's still a really big name.
