France is one syllable. It was the first thing I tried. Also, even though I got Laos, I think it is two syllables. (At least the way I pronounce it.)

Laos is debatable, I agree. France was me being forgetful...

Hasn't this quiz been done before? Weird that 3 are in Mediterranean Europe.

Laos should be a bonus. There are multiple ways to pronounce it, many of which are two or one and a half syllables.

I've always heard it pronounced ['laʊs] or ['laʊ] with the 'ao' pronounced as an 'au' diphthong like the first part of the word 'ouch'. the only time i've heard 'lao' pronounced as two syllables is in the word 'laotian': ['leɪ øʃɛn]/lay-ocean or ['laʊ øʃɛn]/lau-ocean.

@Amelia4242: Peru has two separate and distinct vowel sounds and therefore two syllables. The 'oa' in Laos can be pronounced as one diphthong and one syllable or as a separate 'a' and 'o' sound. In the native Lao language and in French, from where English got the name, the vowels are one diphthong and the 's' is not pronounced but different English accents have changed the pronunciation. If these variations are acceptable pronunciations is up to debate...
