Latitude/Longitude could be any combination of north/south and east/west; e.g., 30 degrees south and 30 degrees east would work.

Great idea for a quiz, fairly hard to visualise but who likes easy quizzes?

Cool idea, and although I never say this, it could probably use another minute or two.

Very cool idea. I was susrpised that the SW line didn't touch South America.

Nice idea. I tried Niger, and it turns out that it is awfully close to 13.65 N, 13.65 E - but it nearly misses.

@jnhickson: eh... I like easy quizzes occasionally, and certainly needed them when I was a less experienced/addicted Sporcle newcomer! But it's great to have hard quizzes like this one as well :-)

This is a great quiz, but I definitely needed more time (uh-oh! automatic comment downgrade!). I could get the African clusters, but time ran out before I could even touch on the other countries.

I agree, maybe 4-5 minutes total would be nice. That being said, this is one of the all-time great quizzes in terms of a single, very simple conceit that is somehow very mentally stimulating and challenging.

Excellent. My one suggestion is that, if you can manage it, you should give the full range of possible coordinates for each country, instead of just one that happens to work.

I agree with the others - a few more minutes would be nice

OK, I've bumped it up to 4 minutes. Thanks for all the comments!

4 minutes was ideal, great quiz!

I would look into micah's suggestion, but otherwise this quiz was excellent- requires a lot of strategy. Editor's Pick'd!

I'll see what I can do with that when I get some time. Trouble is that, for some countries, the line enters and leaves the country multiple times.

I started off thinking it was impossible to do in 4 minutes and had i think russia and canada with 2 minutes left but then it suddenly clicked that you would draw a cross on the earth from 0,0 and it alll made sense, still didnt get them all though :( nominated

Love this quiz. Current time is great. Once you get a toehold somewhere, it's very possible to work your way diagonally into other countries.

Thought this would be too hard, but the answers build nicely on each other. I blame nonconcavity for my missing Kazakhstan.

Awesomely hard - thought I would be scoring 0 until I hit one at random and then elongated the axes. Missed the three least guessed though. You need a lot of lateral thinking!

Great quiz; nominated. It's rare you find a geography quiz that's completely different from any other one you've taken.

Ugh, it's frustrating when I get all the small ones that are least guessed (Lesotho, Cote d'Ivoire) and miss the large, very obvious ones like Chad and Niger. I kept going over Africa in my head blatantly skipping over the middle region of northern Africa. D'oh!

I like the way it makes you think of countries that are central, but not too central (longitude-wise)...

It's Cote d'Ivoire, not Cote D'Ivoire. But great quiz - I couldn't visualize the line. :P

Damn it, they are in order!!! I wish I'd figured that out with more than 10 seconds left on the clock.
