don't really like the lyrics quizzes and I don't they should be a "main" quiz. Can they be relegated to being "minor" quizzes? Seems a waste on one of the 4 main ones.

Mr. Bean singing this song is a fine moment in the history of cinematography.

Should be easy for everyone. After all, as John Hannah's character said in "Sliding Doors," "Everybody's born knowing all the Beatles lyrics instinctively. They're passed into the fetus subconsciously along with all the amniotic stuff. Fact, they should be called ‘The Fetals’.”

Probably the easiest quiz on sporcle ever and probably the fastest tempo at which I've ever sung that song! Did anyone else sing it really fast as they were typing or was that just me?

Beautiful song. Far, far better than the overrated Imagine, which was Sporcled months ago.

It's interesting, I hear sometimes about how this song has been covered 32158243687943674398609823450923 different times, but I think the Beatles' original is the only one I've ever heard. Well, that and the version they made us sing along to in music class in elementary school. Man, that was traumatizing....

I read once that this song was played 6 million times in the 20th century and that at any given moment this song is playing somewhere in the world. I don't know how true that is, but it's nice to imagine, a never-ending loop of Paul McCartney's voice.

@edge I own two other versions as well by Frank Sinatra and Ray Charles. Usually any version of any song is better when done by them ... apart from Beatles covers. Especially Yesterday. McCartney's voice is perfection in it and cannot be beaten!

another of the bland McCartney Beatle tunes. They were all off their faces on lsd Lennon did classics like Day in the life, Harrison did While my guitar gently weeps and McCartney? Martha my bleedin' dear!

A song that you knew all the words because they were all spoken clearly. The only rock and roll group that can make that claim, one song mind you but the rest were all in mumbles and guesses.

These quizzes are a waste of time. I've never heard of this song and I was still able to guess almost all of the words. For people who know the song it is just mindless regurgitation, and for people who don't know the song it is guessing a bunch of random words that fit semantically and syntactically. Either way, it makes for a really stupid quiz. Please Sporcle, stop putting the "l" in "trivial".

So wait, some quizzes are easier than others? I don't think that's fair to us smart people. Seriously though, is there a difficulty rating? Maybe that would shut up some whiners about quizzes they find too easy/hard long/short. Oh and :D Good quiz, I love this song.

Great timing - just saw Sir Paul in concert last night at Fenway Park, Boston. Gotta hand it to the guy -- 67 years old and he's still got it.

@Edge - it is (or certainly was about ten years ago - I guess it may have been overtaken since) the most covered song of all time. Probably because it's incredibly simple yet incredibly brilliant.

I missed the word 'came'. God damn it. I was close. I could sing the whole song except that line. I just went blank. My boyfriend was staring at me like i was crazy, 'cause i was singing out loud to help me, and when i got to that line, i just kept singing and singing adding different words in there. Alas. Failure. I love this quiz though. They need to do this with more Beatles songs.

That comma after "I said" shouldn't really be there, should it?
