What a quiz!!!
Nov 13th, 2008 at 17:48 GMT
Wow, this is so random.
Nov 13th, 2008 at 17:52 GMT
I liked it even though I had a complete brain freeze on 'Page' I kept thinking place or face or space and then trying to come up with words that rhymed with them all to no avail. Now I have to watch an episode or two and hope that they're ones without the Great Gazoo.

I am horrified that I got a perfect score on the first try. Why can't the stuff I learned in high school stick with me that well?
Nov 13th, 2008 at 19:22 GMT
I was also somewhat saddened by how well that song has stuck in my head. However, I do think we could benefit from footpowered cars: no high gas prices, no emissions, other than sweat!

I guess when you watch a show and hear the theme song about 30,000 times as a child, it sticks with you. Does anyone else not remember them saying "you'll have a yabba-dabba-doo time" in the theme song? I'm thinking of the song in my head and don't recall them saying the word "you'll".

let's through and Fred's got me, the rest was a breeze...
Nov 13th, 2008 at 19:51 GMT
@Josh: The Jetsons theme has like 10 words
Nov 13th, 2008 at 20:38 GMT
"One day, maybe Fred'll win the fight and the cat will stay out for the night." I'm sure that was a lyric. Maybe it was added later, or I'm just crazy. Excellent quiz!
Nov 13th, 2008 at 21:07 GMT
@Sam I believe those were from the closing credits, where the quiz was for the opening credits
Nov 13th, 2008 at 22:24 GMT
I always assumed that I'd misheard 'yabba dabba doo time', and that those couldn't possibly be the actual words. 17 years of uncomfortable silence during that theme tune have gone to waste...
Nov 13th, 2008 at 23:29 GMT
@Tom ya but it would still be cool lol
Nov 14th, 2008 at 09:14 GMT
Perfect score first time! This is clearly my area of expertise!
Nov 14th, 2008 at 15:53 GMT
"Fresh Prince of Bel Air" should absolutely be next.
Nov 14th, 2008 at 19:01 GMT
I should like to second the request for the Fresh Prince theme quiz. This is the first quiz I've got 100% on for ages.
Nov 14th, 2008 at 20:59 GMT
All in favor for Fresh Prince them quiz! I say I!!!

Haha yeah, Fresh Prince! Probably the coolest TV show lyrics ever.
Nov 15th, 2008 at 13:46 GMT
I got em' all!

What is fresh prince of bel-air?
Nov 16th, 2008 at 17:15 GMT
Simpson, Homer Simpson, he's the greatest guy in history. From the town of Springfield, he's about to hit a chestnut tree. D'oh! Sadly that did not help me with the quiz and I failed. ^_^
Nov 17th, 2008 at 18:34 GMT
I agree with Matt above, I don't remember them saying "have" in the line "a yabba dabba do time..."
Nov 18th, 2008 at 21:03 GMT
Is it possible to get a quiz of all the scooby-doo villains?
Dec 11th, 2008 at 12:07 GMT
@Matt8024,Quest: I remember the "Have" but no "you'll"
Jan 11th, 2009 at 16:06 GMT
25 out of 25. Thank god for all the cartoons on after the after-school specials.
Feb 6th, 2009 at 17:21 GMT
@Sam: "One day, maybe Fred'll win the fight and the cat will stay out for the night." That was in the closing theme song. :)
Feb 13th, 2009 at 21:16 GMT
@bray: I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that! I have no idea why I remember almost every theme song for the cartoons from my childhood. If only I had been listening to French language tapes or memorizing algebraic formulas instead!
Feb 18th, 2009 at 19:53 GMT
If you want a Jetson's quiz you might as well do the characters, like they have for South Park, Simpsons, etc. It is basically the same thing as the theme song.

"gay" has a second meaning as happy, gleeful. look it up
Jun 25th, 2009 at 02:20 GMT
I screwed this one up bad... I learned the days of the week in French to the tune of this song, try it, it works surprisingly well with the tune. Lundi, Mardi, Mercredi, Jeudi, Vandredi, Samedi, Dimanche, Le sept jours de la semaine. I had to check the spelling on all of those. That is about all the French I've ever learned and it ruined my enjoyment of the Flintstones theme song.

how do you create one of these quizzes where you have to enter a missing word as opposed to having a clue followed by an answer?
Mar 2nd, 2010 at 20:37 GMT
love the flintstones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!lol
Apr 10th, 2010 at 18:58 GMT
it seemed like they had one hundred rooms in their house from the opening theme when fred was running through it.
Sep 18th, 2010 at 22:48 GMT
Couldn't stop thinking about the Simpsons one so that did not help...
Dec 11th, 2011 at 18:54 GMT
This was one of my challenges and I got them all right, yet I only received a score of 36%. Not sure how that's possible....
Oct 17th, 2012 at 18:32 GMT
Has any word or meaning disappeared from use as abruptly as the use of the term "gay" as an adjective meaning "happy or gleeful?" You could take the most mundane comment or quote possible and if it includes that usage you would know immediately that it's at least pre-1980's and probably pre-1970's. I'd actually like to see someone do some research on the topic and figure out exactly when and how quickly it died away. I'd also like to know when the last recorded usage in pop culture was. It's possible that the Flintstones is the last one or was at least the last one regularly shown on TV.
