aw, i always thought this was such a nice theme song and intro for a show essentially about a group of semi-likable alcoholics.

23/25. Would've got more with more time. The reason while I ****ed up my A-levels (high school)= they showed a double bill of Cheers every lunchtime in the common room. And then Frasier....And then obviously we'd have a few hands of blackjack.

@toadturtle...They don't play the first few lines on the syndicated runs. They only played that when it ran on network TV. They eliminate that, along with non-eessential parts of scenes, in order to squeeze in another commercial.

The saddest fact is that I actually know *all* the words to this song. Even the verses they don't play in the Cheers theme! I need a life. :(

25/25. I've got a player piano, with a Cheers roll. Every party we bust it out and play it once. Everyone sings along. Great times.

reporting is for comments that are malicious, innapropriate, or insulting. you dont report comments just because someone doesnt know the cheers song. Whats ironic is this will probably be reported too

When the weight of the world has got you down and you want to end your life. Bills to pay, a dead-end job, and problems with the wife. But don't throw in the towel cause there's a place right down the block, where you can drink your misery awayyyyyy..... At Flaming Moe's (let's all go to Flaming Moe's) where liquor in a mug can warm you like a hug. Happiness is just a Flaming Moe away, happiness is just a Flaming Moe awayyyy..............

For those too young to remember, this was the heart of NBC's "Must See Thursday." For two hours you had: The Cosby Show Family Ties Cheers Night Court Now we have the American Idol Results show leading the way. So much for evolution...
