... and RC (Republic of the Congo). Very interesting quiz.
There are the obvious ones, with tiny little feelers touching the coast (DRC, Iraq, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, RC, Cameroon, and even Togo, Benin, and Guinea). Then there are the huge countries with modest coastlines (Algeria, Mauritania, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and even Syria). But I never would have guessed Brazil, Angola, Nigeria, or Kenya. Those were all surprises to me. In face, even looking at a map Brazil surprises me. I just flat out overestimated Romania's coastline. Fun quiz, made me think.
One little nit, shouldn't the units for the Coast/Area Ratio be km/km^2? Even though the ratio doesn't need units, I think it's helpful to our understanding of how it was calculated to include them. |
