The problem with the older cartoons is that they've been shown under multiple titles. For example, the show you list as "Alvin and the Chipmunks" was first named (in 1962) "The Alvin Show". And while there have been over a dozen TV series with the character of Scooby Doo, none have actually been titled "Scooby Doo". The original series was actually called "Scooby Doo, Where Are You". Yogi Bear originated on "The Huckleberry Hound Show" three years before the character had enough cartoons to "spin-off" onto "The Yogi Bear Show". And don't get me started on how many bad "Flintstones" sequels exist.
My suggestion is to display the original series names, but allow alternates.
And props for including Jonny Quest (with the correct spelling, no less), Top Cat and the obscure "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home". |
