| @thetriviawizard they're supposed to be often, but most of the time they get cancelled due to wars, lack of interest, funding, etc. The World's Fair isn't what it used to be, sadly. Along with amazing buildings and and places like the Eiffel Tower, Worlds Fairs have given us the zipper, electric typewriter, x-ray, baby incubator, ice cream and cone, answering machine, stove, coffee maker, dishwasher, submarines, hot dog, iced tea, postcards, Hershey's chocolate bars (the first chocolate bars), ferris wheel, ketchup... and those are all from just two fairs! |
