| You are trying to compare the Cleveland clinic and university hospitals with UPMC, not going to work. not that Pittsburgh is a slacker in this field. They have made significant investment and contributions to the the practice of medicine. However, Cleveland Clinic is world renowned. People from all over the county and the world come to be treated. The Clinic is a top ten national hospital in almost every pole and "list of", except for possibly pediatrics, though they are even playing catch up there. The Clinic also has branch offices and hospitals in Las Vegas, Fort Lauderdale, Dubai, and all over the Greater Cleveland area. Pittsburgh's medical economy is much less substantial than Cleveland's. We also have one of the biggest county hospital systems in the country,, this is all on paper to see for yourself. I am not being remotely bias on this, you can look at the data for yourself.
Cleveland also has a much bigger economic engine, just judging by the fact that PNC from Pittsburgh, has invested heavily in many Cleveland institutions such as PlayHouse Square, Revitalization projects, and capital investments. Cleveland also has one of twelve Federal Reserve banks in the United States, KeyBank, Huntington has been rumored to be relocating to Cleveland and Third Federal is one of the largest private banks in on the Eastern side of the country, aside from having a GDP of currently nearing 129 billion dollars a year, compared with Pittsburgh's 115 Billion.
Cleveland has always been the bigger brother to Pittsburgh. The Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh debate will go on to till the end of time, but in reality most Clevelanders really love PA's second biggest city and metro area. It is like that cute little brother who annoys you by trying to out due you, and that is not such a bad thing, because it makes you try harder.
As for Philly, well, again you would have to look at the data, Cleveland has since the 1900's, invested mightily in art and music. Not to mention having one of the biggest annual budgets and endowments for w |
