I know you used a source, but this is a really bad list. These aren't "college cities/towns." This is essentially just a list of places with 1-2.5M people, and every metro of that size has some sort of college around it. And I don't know how the list is ordered, but I certainly hope it's not in ranking order, because I'd know the list is truly flawed when Buffalo ranks fourth and Portland falls near the bottom. Even people in Buffalo don't like Buffalo.

Buffalo, Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Pittsburgh have for centuries now been known for higher education

hey, Rochester has some really good schools, but c'mon, "best college city" is this based on quality of schools or night life? if it's night life ...Rochester aint got none!

It might be an issue of nomenclature. Buffalo is a ****hole. Maybe the biggest ****hole in the US. Just because it has a lot of colleges doesn't make it "best".
