Nice quiz. Perhaps add in a comment what the posters were propagandizing for (yes, some are obvious) and the date, if you know them. Also, wouldn't 5 be more (Vichy) France than Algeria?

Great idea. One issue, though - and this seems to come up a lot on picture quizzes - is that it's natural, when presented with a grid like this, to read it left to right like a book, rather than in columns. There have been any number of times I've been stymied by a quiz not accepting my correct answer, only to discover that the box that I assumed would be #2 wasn't. (E.g., in this case it was #4. Why?)

Why would Israel have a World War II recruitment poster? World War II ended in 1945 and Israel didn't become a country until 1948.

@mneh You're right, but when you hit "next" you always move down in the answer grid. I actually started out doing the numbers horizontally and then had to redo the image once I figured out this problem.

@Isstvan I'm guessing that the poster is recruiting Jews for the Jewish Brigade, which was a British army unit recruited in part in the Palestine Mandate, and which fought in Italy, which would make it more of a British propaganda poster than Israeli.

Great quiz but why don't you put some American anti-communist propaganda posters in?

@carbon_rod The quiz instructions say "modern country". The poster was not published by the British, but by the Israelis under the British mandate (they only gained independece after WWII). Palestine was at no point a British colony, so Israel sounds like the best answer.

@Isstvan, the answer is simple, it isn't a WWII recruitment poster. The poster reads (in Hebrew): "For the release of the tortured, for the revenge of the massacred. Get Recruited!". That's most probably an Independence War recruitment poster from 1948.

@myself, clearly didn't notice Italy in the Israeli poster. So yes, Isstvan, it's probably a recruitment poster for the Jewish Brigade.

Excellent quiz. I would have liked a little more time, since I was enjoying figuring them out more than I was wanting to see how fast I could go.
