	Even though the border is only on a lake, how about adding Tanzania/Dem. Rep. of the Congo? Sporcle generally considers them as bordering. Love the hints there! It's too bad Kyrgyzstan only borders countries that drive on the same side as the road...

	@FreakyFlyBry: I've added Tanzania and the Democratic Republic of the Congo border as it is possible to cross Lake Tanganyika on the MV Liemba Ferry. One thing I've learned in researching the example border crossings is how difficult it is to cross many of these borders. Countries that border each on the map don't necessarily have the road infrastructure in place that would allow easy travel between them. I was somewhat surprised to see the degree to which Guyana and Suriname are isolated from the countries that border them. Add on top of that political considerations in many of these countries and it seems that the volume of traffic flowing across some of these borders is quite small (if it's allowed at all). I originally decided to create this quiz because I had a picture in my mind of massive numbers of vehicles switching the sides of the road they drove on as they crossed these borders. That does happen across some borders and for those crossings elaborate crossover bridges have been constructed to make the lane switching as easy as possible (see the Macau/China and Hong Kong/China crossing links referenced in my last post). But for many, maybe most, of these crossings the traffic volume is so small as to make the need for any sort of elaborate infrastructure to ease the lane switchover laughable. Many of the border crossings occur in pretty rough territory, geologically speaking, and in some cases, politically speaking as well.

	Your title is not correct if you include UK-France. The countries don't "border," which the title claims they have to. Either change the title or remove that entry.

	And on that note, if you include Hong Kong and Macao, they are not countries by Sporcle standard no matter how you define it. Change the term country to nation and then its okay.

	@bsd: I've changed from country to nation to accommodate Hong Kong-China and Macau-China. They are the two busiest crossings in the world connecting areas that drive on the left to areas that drive on the right. I have also demoted UK-France to a bonus answer, since the countries don't border each other. They do, however, share a dry-land connection via the Channel Tunnel and there is vehicle traffic via a service tunnel, though it's private access only, not open to the general public.

	REVISED Multi-Word Abbreviations: the rules for the multi-word abbreviations are very simple: use the first letter of each word in the common Sporcle name of the country to compose the acronym. Omit insignificant words: "and", "of", and "the". There are ten exceptions to this rule: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, El Salvaldor, Marshall Islands, Saudi Arabia, Solomon Islands, Sierra Leone, and Sri Lanka. For these exceptions the abbreviation is merely the first word of the multi-word country name: Bosnia, Costa, Czech, Dominican, El, Marshall, Saudi, Solomon, Sierra, and Sri. These exceptions were necessary in order to eliminate conflicts with other abbreviations. I was unable to come up with an acceptable abbreviation for South Africa and St Lucia. 	Really unique idea for a quiz. I liked it a lot. (ran out of time) I am not sure, but doesn't Ireland drive on the right, and UK on the left? I seemed to remember switching sides when we went between North and South.

	Oh and PS: There is a crossing between Suriname and French Guiana- I know cause I crossed it, so it has at least been there since 2007.

	@emma2323: glad you enjoyed it. Maybe I should increase the time? I've re-checked and Ireland still drives on the left (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Right-_and_left-hand_traffic#Ireland). And many thanks for the information on the crossing between Suriname and French Guiana. You're absolutely right, there is a ferry crossing of the Maroni River at Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni on the French Guiana side. I've updated the quiz accordingly. I envy you making that trip, sounds like a great adventure.
