	The Germany one actually depends on what car you have and how fast you intend to drive, since most of the highways don't have speed limits. :P Funny quiz, since it's actually not that hard to predict the right countries. At least way easier than the lowest average speed quiz.

	@hilco: True. For the countries that made this list, the trip from capital to largest city covered from 66.8 to 1,463 km and took from 46 minutes to 16 hours and 40 minutes. In other words, all these trips involved some quality time on some pretty fast highways. The autobahn fits right into that pattern.

	REVISED Multi-Word Abbreviations: the rules for the multi-word abbreviations are very simple: use the first letter of each word in the common Sporcle name of the country to compose the acronym. Omit insignificant words: "and", "of", and "the". There are ten exceptions to this rule: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Dominican Republic, El Salvaldor, Marshall Islands, Saudi Arabia, Solomon Islands, Sierra Leone, and Sri Lanka. For these exceptions the abbreviation is merely the first word of the multi-word country name: Bosnia, Costa, Czech, Dominican, El, Marshall, Saudi, Solomon, Sierra, and Sri. These exceptions were necessary in order to eliminate conflicts with other abbreviations. I was unable to come up with an acceptable abbreviation for South Africa and St Lucia. 	That doesn't work either. EG would trigger when typing Egypt. USA, not US, is better for the United States. Removing the last word in multi-word countries is just stupid, both these latter examples result in overflow that must be removed before further typing when using standard abbreviations or full country names. If you insist on the abbreviation system, please don't use any examples that can be accidentally triggered. There's no getting around UK/Ukraine though.

	@cuendillar: you're right about EG (EGypt and Equatorial Guinea), I had not realized that before. However, that's only really a problem when the Egypt answer comes before the Equatorial Guinea answer. I'll consider removing EG in favor of Equatorial as an abbreviation. I don't see why USA is better for the United States than US, it seems to me the shorter abbreviation should be preferred. I take your point about the first-word abbreviations. I'm still undecided about whether to keep those or not. Still getting feedback from players. I don't necessarily advocate quiz makers adopt the first-word abbreviations, but the acronyms do not suffer from any problems and I heartily advocate their adoption. I agree with your point about not using abbreviations that can accidentally trigger other countries. I've tried to avoid that, so thanks for bringing EG to my attention. The existing UK/UKraine problem can be ameliorated to some extent by rearranging the quiz so that the UK answer comes before the UKraine answer. That way most players will be unaffected by the ambiguity.
