The Love Boat outlived some of those other shows, but in the late 70s there were some "actors" and "actresses" that seemed to live off nothing else than game show and Love Boat/Fantasy Island appearances because you really didn't see them anywhere else. I'm thinking about people like Bert Convy, Charo, Elaine Joyce, Fannie Flagg, Charles Nelson Reilly, etc. I guess they were the 70s version of "The Situation," Snookie, Survivor All-Stars, Surreal Life inhabitants and the Bachelor/Bachelorette retreads.
