"NASCAR" is an organization, not the name of a sport. The sport is car racing

I'm not buying some of those answers. Based on what? I clicked the link and it's just a wikianswers page. No credible link there either. Golf has a major contract with the major networks while hockey does not. And more people certainly play golf than they do play hockey or "play" auto racing. So is this tv revenue, fan participation, what??

How can you call WikiAnswers a source? Also doesn't accept "Auto Racing" for NASCAR or even any variation of "Mixed Martial Arts" for MMA.

MMA? Pretty sure I took some of that last Friday, although the details are sketchy.

Accept "Mixed Martial Arts" for MMA, and, NASCAR is a league. This Should be Auto Racing.

Also the quiz is not specific - top 10 sports in terms of what? revenue, viewership, participation?

the greek definitely didn't invent MMA, that's absurd! also should accept 'american football' for, well american football. this is not necessarily a bad idea for a quiz, just really poorly executed, sorry!

This quiz has the setup and the grammar of a 6 year old. I hope a 6 year old made it. Terrible.

golf and nascar are not sports i know what the link says but in nascar you just drive a car and in golf its not like your getting any arm strength cuz the putter is doing the work

MASCAR is not a sport, it's a league. You should put "racing" or "auto racing". Having NASCAR as an acceptable answer is the same as if you just put NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA, PGA, UFC, etc., for the other ones.

People are idiotic who say golf is not a sport. It is one of the hardest behind baseball. Also Nascar isn't easy whether its classified a sport or not.

I think it is established that this is a execrable quiz. What an underrated issue is the format. This quiz, including some of Taco_King's others, uses grouping for no reason. Abominable.

i think baseball was first played in southern england, it never really caught on and made its way over to the new world, and wot is racing referring to horses or cars, both were started in england, so was hockey, and your seriously telling me you dont know were "soccer" started come off it

@killerbill: you need some punctuation in there. Also, there is little question that Doubleday had little if anything to do with baseball and he certainly was not its inventor.
