How on earth can Honolulu not be on this list?
Nov 1st, 2009 at 22:25 GMT
The source completely discounts temperature. Doesn't even mention the ridiculously high summer temps for Phoenix! Sunshine and precipitation are not the only factors in weather. Los Angeles and San Francisco have very little precipitation, where are they?

Strange how most are mid size or large cities, yet there is Bishop, Yuma, and Winslow. Also, since San Diego and Los Angeles essentially have the same climate, and probably the same with Bakersfield and Fresno, where are they? and HONOLULU? 112+ degrees in Phoenix wouldn't seem to be the best weather, either...

I'm just going by the source's information.

Yeah, most of these are cities where you can't go outside for three months every summer.

Yeah, these choices are insane. Have you ever been to Arizona? If this is what the source says, then don't use this source. Also, Fresno and Bakersfield are way different weather-wise from L.A. and San Diego. Those cities are inland; L.A. and SD are coastal. Well, more of SD is close to the coast, so they have the better weather.

Whoever came up with this list has never been to any of these cities in July.

I agree with the list. Five Stars!

Maybe this should be titled "Top 10 U.S. cities with most boring weather". I definitely enjoy a little rain and snow for some variety.

The source says that the list considers temperatures, sunshine, precipitation, and some other minor criteria. However, the creator assumes that 'hotter is better', 'sunnier is better', and 'drier is better'. If you disagree with these criteria (and I don't really blame you if you do), you're likely to disagree with the list. Additionally, although the source makes no mention of it, it seems that only one city per region has been chosen. While it's likely that the weather is very similar in San Diego and Oceanside, and Phoenix and Scottsdale, and Las Vegas and Henderson, only one has been chosen. Also, keep in mind that the source acknowledges that the list is subjective.

i like the idea for the quiz, but i think the source is not very accurate. i would see if you can find a different source that ranks moderate temperatures better than high temperatures.
