Being a programmer definitely helped here...I think I use a lot more of these on a regular basis than the average joe.

Some of the characters are triggered by the spacebar. If you take out this line of Sporcle code, then everything should (probably) be all better -->
guess = guess.replace(/[-'.,!?:;`]/g, "");

This quiz was contributed almost two years ago. That should give anyone hope that Sporcle may still dig up that old quiz they made and publish it.

"Naming" keys would be "period", "six", and so on. This is just typing the symbol. Little confusing.

I keep accidentally hitting Tab when trying to push the button that has ` and ~ ... In fact, I did hit Tab and accidentally posted half a comment just a few seconds ago...

Confused by the name. Got # first and typed pound and hash. Typing isn't the same as naming. Also, I am very very drunk and I had 12 seconds left, so maybe too much time, but maybe I'm just that swell. (Once I figured it out.)

The octothorpe/hash sign/number sign doesn't even appear on my keyboard (there may be a keystroke for it but the symbol itself is nowhere to be seen), so this wasn't entirely fair.

Today is the day that I found out the keyboard shortcut for # on a Mac. That was about 1 minute after I'd held down shift and pressed every single button on the keyboard - and then spent 2 minutes Googling it to end my nightmare. I think from that, we can surmise that I didn't get 100% on this quiz. 5* for being the second Sporcle quiz to have had a practical benefit on my life, the first being the degree course in middle-asian country name spellings.

And today, I regretted that I didn't pay attention in middle school when they taught us how to add the number/symbol keys to our touch-typing repertoire.

Definitely not as easy for non-english keyboard users. For example, I can't just get on of these ^ guys at once. I have to press AltGR+that button, get two of these guys and the delete one of them. Same story with ` and ~. Had I been using my laptop I couldn't even finish this quiz. But I still like it. Just could have had a warning.

These sporcle published quizzes are getting ever more sophisticated. Look at symbol on screen, look at keyboard and press the same symbol.

took me quite a few tries, but finally finished quiz with 4 seconds left -- makes a difference too to get a nice string of letters that you dont have to hesitant on like the symbols, and you gain more time
