Awesome quiz. I can't believe I missed so many dudes off the 2001 team -- especially Olerud.

For the hardcore fans who found this too easy, '77-'89 might be a bit more challenging :) http://www.sporcle.com/games/swellwrench/marinerslineups2

Excellent game, I'd love to create a similar one for the Cubs, but how did you make the multiple headings for the different years?

If you put the years into the "hint" column and then select "group answers with the same hint together" or whatever on the "style" tab it'll do it like that

Excellent quiz. The only bad thing was that it forced me to remember Jeff Cirillo.

Well done. This may be the only one of these where I've actually missed one from 2009. And yet again, I forget Ibanez.

You should update this quiz for 2010 and add 1990 to the other quiz.

At the risk of nitpicking, it should be Ken Griffey Jr., not Griffey, as that is what he is commonly known as.

What happened to Ichiro in 2009?

He started the season on the DL due to a bleeding ulcer. And I generally try to avoid including "Jr." in names on Sporcle quizzes because it allows the exploit of just guessing "Jr." (which it parses as a last name) and getting them all. Not so relevant for this quiz, since he's the only Jr. and actually was called simply "Jr," but oh well.

I did OK at 136, would have done better if I could have remembered that Johjima has an h in the middle.

139/200 and somehow I got the entire 1995 starting line-up, but no complete roster for any other season.

Killerbill, I was wondering that too. But since Sporcle is headquartered in Seattle, they might be Mariners fans, and probably appreciated this quiz enough to publish it.

I read that when Kenji Johjima stays at hotels he uses the pseudonym "George MacKenzie" because "Johjima Kenji" sounds like that in a Japanese accent

ok, I'm a die hard M's fan, but you needed to put Ken Griffey Jr. because we had his father, Ken Griffey Sr. play for the M's during the Griffey era, us M's fans remember them hitting back to back homeruns actually

@Supersonicfan3: Pretty much every baseball fan 28 or above remembers them hitting back to back homers. And he wouldn't have had to put JR or SR even if Sr had started opening day (which I think would have been impossible because I'm pretty sure he was never on an M's roster during an opening day). Griffey would count for both Sr. and JR, just the way that Martinez counts for Edgar, Tino, etc.

man I almost forgot how scary those 90s Mariners teams were. Definitely one of the more easy lineup quizzes with all those big names.
