| @LinuxLinus: Yeah, you probably should at least know who Martin was, but he is ridiculously anonymous for being #4 on perhaps the most famous record in NFL. Why? He was steady for many years rather than elite for 5 yrs and then fading away. His style wasn't bruising (like Bettis) or flashy (like Sanders) so it didn't get much attention. He didn't run his mouth and call attention to himself (like, well, basically every NFL player nowadays). Perhaps most importantly, he played for the Jets and Pats, teams that were, at the time, kind of under-the-radar, if you youngsters can believe that. |
