Once again, a great mix of movies - including two of my faves: "Midnight Run" and "Murder on the Orient Express." Five globes.

Though you could've chosen a different image for the mummy that talks to more people because the movie is fairly/pretty much known but is only found by 1/10 people. But still, excellent quiz!

@H0limkill: Yes, I could have pulled a more "known" picture for 4D, but I try to keep an even balance of "gimme" pictures and tougher ones. I do my best to pick out a couple movies/images per quiz that you would almost have to have seen the movie in order to correctly guess the answer. That way, you get rewarded for having seen the film, rather than just being able to recognize a publicity still from a movie you've never seen. Plus, those Karloff eyes are just too iconic to not be included! :)

4D seems to be a gimme picture to me.

I'm curious why this quiz has a higher rating than all of your other 'letter' quizzes (nice work on all of them, by the way). I'm betting it has something to do with C1. Though that one does have a special place in my heart (along with A1 and C5).

I like how you show how the artists who designed Megamind copied the aliens from Mars Attacks.

Did anyone else think the actors in 2F looked like Bradley Cooper and Jim Carrey?
Jun 17th, 2011 at 15:15 GMT
You always seem to find some excellent movies for these quizzes. Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Midnight Run, Men In Black, Monsters And Aliens and Munich are all 5 star movies in my book.

I'm amazed that more than a third of people knew the Man with the Golden Gun. Campy at times, but come on...Christopher Lee. Throw in Herve Villechaize and holy smokes...Britt Ekland rockin that bikini. I'd be pretty comfortable on Scaramanga's island.

Hmm, a picture of a man with a golden gun... What could that be? I might just try "man with a golden gun" for the fun of it- no, I'm running out of time here...

I'm surprised Mean Girls is so low. "4 for you Glen Coco. You go Glen Coco!"
Jun 28th, 2012 at 05:22 GMT
No Marathon Man? Dr Szell is very angry with you, and no, it's NOT safe. Fun quiz.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 06:17 GMT
Muppets? :( Too obvious, probably.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 07:43 GMT
Also understandable that you didn't include the aptly named Sir Not-Appearing-In-This-Quiz.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 07:54 GMT
Ha Ha you dumb bastard! It's not a schooner it's a sailboat!
Jun 28th, 2012 at 08:13 GMT
Nice job on including 'Magnolia'.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 11:16 GMT
Magnificently majestic 'M' Movie quiz, my friend. 5 globes from me.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 11:44 GMT
Woody Allen looks like an old woman in that shot.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 12:13 GMT
^ I think he looks gorgeous. Oh, wait, he's on the LEFT....
Jun 28th, 2012 at 12:15 GMT
GAHHH!!! I tried "Mission Impossible" three times for the picture of Tom Cruise in the SWAT uniform. Not only did I see the correct answer, but I saw it in a theatre AND own the DVD.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 12:21 GMT
Damn Holy Grail... never could get the title right.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 13:18 GMT
@thirdheaven, a schooner is a sailboat, stupid head!
Jun 28th, 2012 at 13:22 GMT
That was fun! As you've observed the official nomenclature for Mars Attacks! my inner dweeb can't help but point out that Moulin Rouge should have an exclamation mark after it as well.

I feel slightly ashamed for instantly knowing mean girls. I could blame growing up with a little sister but I'd possibly be kidding myself. Maybe.

Breakfasts come and go renee, but hartford? the Whale, they only beat Vancouver once, maybe twice in a lifetime.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 13:43 GMT
Missed opportunity to include a classic foreign movie, aptly named "M" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0022100/).

Armaments 2:9-21 -- "And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit-bats, and large"...."Skip a bit, brother."...."And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the holy pin. Then shalt thou count to three. No more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number be reached, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."...."Amen."

Alternately thrilled to see Midnight Run included, and depressed to see it's almost the least known film.
Jun 28th, 2012 at 20:30 GMT
Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Maltese Falcon, and the Magnificent Seven: that's a dang good list in and of itself (missed Bogie, though, since I couldn't quite see the face in that shot).
Jun 28th, 2012 at 20:47 GMT
Why isn't this quiz popular with the Chicago police department?
Jun 28th, 2012 at 21:32 GMT
@save_ferris15: so should you also try "Guy with a grainy polaroid" for the second pic down on the left?
Jun 28th, 2012 at 21:54 GMT
@sub - are you joking or have you not realised why "M" just wouldn't work?
Jun 29th, 2012 at 04:43 GMT
Hey everyone. See Midnight Run. Terrific, terrific, terrific movie.
Jul 1st, 2012 at 07:34 GMT
I know it's in black and white and it's the 2nd oldest film included and it's not a great photo of either actor and it's not on tv very often anymore, but the least guessed film is "The Maltese Falcon"????? Aaah, youth.
Jul 2nd, 2012 at 21:37 GMT
That's so fetch.
Jul 3rd, 2012 at 13:07 GMT
@Statto2: it could most certainly work as a bonus answer.
Sep 24th, 2012 at 15:17 GMT
OK, so the three least-guessed movies are The Maltese Falcon, Midnight Run and Manhattan. It is truly a sad state of affairs....
Sep 25th, 2012 at 00:53 GMT
The photo for Major League is actually from Major League II.
