When you get a question wrong, I'd show something like "No, it was a Fort/Port" so you can tell where you went wrong, rather than just seeing "Wrong".

Ambling-Thanks for playing! Ubbie-I tried several different ways to comment on the wrong answers and this was the least objectionable. If anything, I would consider turning this one into a minefield quiz. What do you think? Also, thanks for playing!

@superspurjm: Please don't make it a minefield. It's great as is.

@superspurjm: Go back and reread Ubbie's comment. You're wrong that his suggestion is less objectionable than just saying "Wrong". Another way would be to put the correct name in red. And no, definitely don't make it a minefield.

Okay! :) Thanks for all the great comments! No Minefield! I'll see what I can do about the other. Thanks for playing, and stay tuned!

There must be a place name "Portfort" somewhere... Minor typo: Huron's inhabitants are missing their thousands separator.

Considering one has a 50/50 chance of getting each one right if guessing, I'm just wondering how a few of the answers have a low correct answer rate of 26%-40%?

For the places that sounded like they could be a guy's name, I guessed fort, and it actually worked a majority of the time.

Thank you for all of the comments! All of the additional towns/cities that have the same names as the ones on the list do not make the list due to either their population being less than 5,000,(as of 2010 census), or not being an incorporated city or town. Like I said in my first comment...Something so simple should not be so hard! Thanks for playing.

For the people talking about the Fort Washingtons in Maryland and Pennsylvania, keep in mind: "All cities are incorporated and have a population of 5,000 or more." "Fort Washington is an unincorporated census-designated place and suburb of Philadelphia in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States." "Fort Washington is an unincorporated area and census-designated place in Prince George's County, Maryland."
