| Hornets refers to a revolutionary battle for Charlotte that was so fierce that the British General said it was like attacking a "nest of hornets." New Orleans liked the reference for the Battle of New Orleans when Andrew Jackson's men fought just as fierce. Chargers was actually named after a chant from USC games, but it had to be grouped somewhere. Same for the swashbuckling aspect of crossed Sabres. A's mascot is a white elephant, still on the uniform sleeve, named after comments made about the team when they were in Philly. As far as the others, I wasn't going to have single team categories, and it makes people think just a bit to make the fit. Besides, it's still fun to play! Thanks for playing. |
