| Both ATP and WTA rankings are done purely on the total points accumulated in the past year, so the Williams sisters often are further down as they don't play as many events. In golf, the rankings are calculated on an average points basis, over two years, with events longer ago counting for less than more recent events. That said, the current no.1 and no.2 don't have a major between them, but then again golf at the moment is very open, I don't think a credible case can be argued for any current major champion to be no.1. |
