| Morbo: Sandy Alomar Jr.'s career with the Padres consisted of 1 game in 1988 and 7 games in 1989. Benito Santiago was the starting catcher for the Pads those seasons. Alomar didn't get a change to play regularly in the majors until he was traded to Cleveland along with Chris James and Carlos Baerga in exchange for Joe Carter. Alomar, of course, was the AL Rookie of the Year with the Indians in 1990, while Carter had one extremely subpar year (even by his standards) with the Pads in '90 before being shipped off to the Blue Jays along with Roberto Alomar for Tony Fernandez and Fred McGriff. |
