| It makes no difference to this quiz but in the UK, the suffix is part of the official name of the street and everyone uses it when talking about the street. So, for example, `Victoria Road' (IIRC, the most common street name in the country) is definitely `Victoria Road' and not just `Victoria' because, likely as not, there'll be a `Victoria Avenue' close by. They used to build whole housing estates and call the streets in them `Angel Road', `Angel Street', `Angel Crescent', `Angel Gardens' and `Angel Everything Else You Can Think Of' but they don't do that any more because it's stupidly confusing, not least for the fire brigade and ambulance service who need to get to the right one first time. |
