All: thanks for the kind words, and @rockgolf thanks for the EP. I still consider this sort of quiz a work in progress, however. As @tahnan notes, there are some limitations to Wordle that were cumbersome to work around. You can turn off the "common words" feature, but you wind up with clouds dominated by prepositions and determiners. For some songs, probably the best approach is to edit the lyrics before dropping them in Wordle; e.g. for #20 you do really want to see "I" and "down", not just "get" and "knocked".
I also think to get the full effect, somewhat larger graphics are needed. @hejman used a Flickr slideshow, which was cumbersome but IMO produced better-looking images. Again, this is a work in progress and there is plenty of room for improvement, a challenge which I hope the Sporclers of the world take up. |
