| I approve of this quiz. |
 | pottedstu: | May 18th, 2010 at 19:31 GMT | 16 points |
| Interesting. I'm surprised there's no Kazakhstan (self-proclaimed birthplace of the apple) or Israel (one of the most famous orange-producers). |

 | NeerlandsHoop: | May 6th, 2011 at 11:38 GMT | 14 points |
| North Korea, sure! Everyone knows North Korean statistics are extremely reliable. Nice quiz though. |

| Excellent quiz. Makes a brilliant change from keyboard-bashing out standard countries. |

 | Sporctastic: | May 6th, 2011 at 18:18 GMT | 0 points |
| The Chinese really like apples. |
 | chriskotx: | May 7th, 2011 at 00:18 GMT | 2 points |
| Yeah, Sporctastic. They must have some great apple pies. |

| Sporctastic: I'd say they actually like making a lot of money exporting apples. |
 | hscer: | May 7th, 2011 at 05:19 GMT | 0 points |
| I guess those who refuse to buy things made in China have to be really careful in the produce section... |
 | ian2813: | May 7th, 2011 at 05:21 GMT | 2 points |
| As a big apple juice fan, I guessed China right away. It's hard to find apple juice in the store that isn't stamped with "PRODUCT OF CHINA." |

| Kazakhstan number one exporter of potassium, lousy Uzbeks has apple. |

| @DC13: I don't know, in 6 minutes I - and probably many other Sporclers - can get through almost all the countries. Especially if I'm allowed to skip the islands of Oceania and North America, as they were too small for the quiz. |
 | SexualCamel: | May 7th, 2011 at 06:07 GMT | 2 points |
| @ian2813: Come to British Columbia. Most of ours is homegrown in the Okanagan Valley (Sun Rype Pure apple juice is THE best!) |

| China has an absolute stranglehold on the apple industry. |
 | rottenflesh: | May 7th, 2011 at 08:26 GMT | 18 points |
| Really shocked to see North Korea on the list considering how many people have died of hunger. |
 | kingtorres: | May 7th, 2011 at 09:26 GMT | 10 points |
| Poland 3rd!? |
 | Uhlan: | May 7th, 2011 at 09:40 GMT | -2 points |
| @rottenflesh; Maybe the North Koreans produce mostly cooking apples and don't have the fuel to cook them. And who knew Poland was Europe's orchard?! |

| The quiz does not acceopt US or USA which are Sporcle standards. This left me with two worrying gaps towards the top of each list which drove me to distraction. |
 | Teary_Ennui: | May 7th, 2011 at 10:54 GMT | 6 points |
| North Korea?! Makes Kim's policies even more disgraceful if they have the capability to mass cultivate fruit. @Uhlan, they could export them and use the currency to buy other food if the country wasn't run by a monster |

| I live in Upstate New York and we grow some of the best apples! |
 | Statto2: | May 7th, 2011 at 11:34 GMT | 7 points |
| I think the apple list is more challenging as there are a lot of countries that can be ruled out of the orange list as they don't have a warm enough climate. |
 | TLordaGama: | May 7th, 2011 at 12:09 GMT | -1 points |
| i guessed north korea and I didn't think they would have a warm enough climate for apples! living in CA we are blessed with apples and orange trees we can grow them in our backyard! |
 | isildur: | May 7th, 2011 at 12:11 GMT | 8 points |
| @schulace Kazakhstan was one of my first guesses because I think that's where apples originate from. |

| I always guess Australia for these quizzes, and rarely are they accepted |
 | Lucifuge: | May 7th, 2011 at 13:04 GMT | 2 points |
| All but Ghana, and I never would have guessed that in a million years lol. I love these kind of quizzes. |

| north korea? how does anyone know what they do with apples?
i was sure kazakhstan would be at the top of the apples list. i kind of hoped to see UK as well, but i guess the apples everyone grows here aren't for commercial use. |

| Uzbekistan, eh? Well, how about them apples. |
 | transitfan: | May 7th, 2011 at 21:44 GMT | 1 point |
| I think you could probably cut back from 6 minutes to 4 minutes in the interest of not making it a random country guessing game at the end. |
 | sconroy93: | May 8th, 2011 at 00:14 GMT | -1 points |
| I bet you 9,000,000 of the oranges for the US came from Florida. |
