'alright' should work for 'reet' (as in "you reet?") and "isn't" should work for int' (as in "it int' in there"). Not sure Booit or Nivver count, that's just the accent, and isn't Rue universal? ("You'll rue the day you did this to me!" sounds like something you'd hear on the telly) For replacement: aye for yes, bairn for child, bog for loo, chuddy for gum, gaff(er) for boss, jammy for lucky, jiggered for nackered, pudgy for chubby, radgy for irritable/angry, ta for thanks. Other good ones that are harder to directly translate are skive (missing work/school), faff (mess about), manky (gross), snicket (alleyway) |
