I understand why you made the bonus answer just that - a bonus. Many say the city and federal district as one entity, thus giving it more syllables. Really, the city just happens to occupy the entire district set aside as the capital region (though some snobs cling to writing Georgetown, DC on their envelopes). One would not say that San Juan has more than two syllables because of the PR that designates the state/commonwealth/district.

Fixed El Paso (I missed it while going through the census data). Rochester is far below Baton Rouge in the rankings. The data accounts only for incorporated cities, not their metro areas.
