| 1., You cannot possibly make a quiz like this. For one thing, using Elo rating is inaccurate since Elo rating only measrues a player's strength in relationship to thier peers, so it is in accurate (notice the rating inflation of recent years). Also, if it is on Elo rating, some historical ratings (i.e. before FIDE) are off. You don't even include players like Keres and Carlsen, who are undeniably worthy of making a list of top players. Additionally, it is impossible to compare players of different ages, as players in different periods have never played eachother, varying amounts of theroy, etc. It may not be comparing apples to oranges, but in my opinion its pretty darn close. Also, even if all th Elo ratings wer accurate, it is still unreliable. For example, Kramnik is on of the only players with a plus score against Kasparov, yet he is 13 while KAsparov is 6. It seems like this quiz was made by personal; opinion. I could rant on, but I'll stop the complaints here. |
