I think it'd be more fun as a 60 second blitz

It's a simple quiz. I was expecting it to take us from French Guiana to Europe- to make things more interesting.

That is a good idea! And because of the Spain/Morocco, Egypt/Israel, and Indonesia/Papua New Guinea borders there could be a global quiz (including all of the habited continents). It would also make it interesting if Antarctic territorial claims were included (imagine the complaints if we went from Norway to Australia and back to France)!

Hoo boy, its a lot harder to fail this quiz than the other continental masses, but I certainly managed.

Too bad islands don't have technical borders (other than Haiti—Dominican Republic). They could have kept us hopping quite a bit in this quiz.

I agree with gsa, I finished with 2 minutes and 20 seconds or so left. There's plenty of time.

American borders with booby traps? Let's not give the Republican Presidential candidates any ideas here.

Great quiz, lots of fun! One suggestion - If you had gone clockwise from Columbia in South America, you could include all 12 countries (Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and Ecuador).

@Loganite Yes, Then I could have hit them all, but that wasn't my goal. I was trying to make that path where you had the most actual hard decisions about what country was next, so that's why I didn't go that way.

Also, there's no need to go clockwise to get all the countries in South America. Colombia - Ecuador - Peru - Chile - Bolivia - Paraguay - Argentina - Uruguay - Brazil - (France) - Suriname - Guyana - Venezuela

As border bashes go, it was easier than some of the others I've played, especially if you're clued up on the countries of the world. Maybe reducing the time limit would make it a little harder?

This was a bit easy just because the Americas are fairly linear and their aren't as many mainland countries.

@sproutcm: But there were no "actual hard decisions" about where to go... I like this quiz idea, but I don't think it really works in the Americas unless you can find a way to include the Caribbean.

@marpocky - Agreed. This quiz doesn't make a lot of sense in the Americas. In about half the questions, there was only one country that bordered the one your were in other than the one you just came from. It's a lot harder if you do it in Africa or something.

@marpocky The fact that only 32% of people finish this quiz means that some people are having some difficulty with this quiz. Not every single geography quiz on Sporcle has to be killer hard for the geography wonks. Some quizzes have to be more accessible. I admit that this is the easiest of all of them. If you want, go take the Africa version is you felt you needed more of a challenge. :)

I'm usually terrible at these border quizzes; I know a lot of the countries, and I have a general idea of what part of the continent they're on, but I can't really visualize a detailed map. So I was glad this one was a little easier; it was nice to actually finish one.

I won, but I should have lost. I tried "Benin" before "Bolivia" but I didn't blow up.

@PK9; I think you'll only lose if you type in the wrong country from the Americas. Myself, the first time through I was cruising right along until I got to the first B in South America and put in Bolivia without thinking. Why didn't I take the giant country that borders everything first?

Almost didn't get the last 'P' country. I kept going back to Peru and then typed in "Paramaribo". Good thing that didn't blow me up.

I love the steep dropoffs from Mexico to Belize, Guatemala to El Salvador, Nicaragua to Costa Rica, and Uruguay to Brazil. Personally, the Uruguay clue messed me up, my first thought was Bolivia.

I suggest a round-the-world one, as much as possible. Include a short flight from Alaska to Siberia if you like. This was pretty easy, although you should penalise us who get Benin and Belize mixed up EVERY TIME.
