For anyone that's finding it hard, the only way I can try to make you feel better about that (and the Puzzle Hunt generally) is to tell you that you're not alone. I had to look incredibly hard outside Sporcle to complete Music, Entertainment and Holiday. And to some extent, this Just For Fun one as well. There simply are a lot of things that I don't know off the top of my head and will never come to learn. It's just one of those things.
But it hasn't been impossible. There are ways to find what you need on Google, on Wikipedia, elsewhere around Sporcle, etc. It just takes some more effort and time and thinking, but remember that these quizzes are supposed to be hard.
And about the final puzzles at the end, there's nothing really I think sproutcm or some of us would say other than to recommend you try harder. Thinking outside the box and trying to look at the final screen result (at whatever extent you've finished it) from different angles is the only strategy you can employ. If that's what you see on the screen, maybe that's part of the puzzle, and maybe it's completely irrelevant. Either way, from what I understand after doing it, sproutcm intended on showing you whatever you see. Work with what you've got - whatever it may be - and think around it. Maybe try again tomorrow with a fresh perspective.
It cannot be stressed enough that these are meant to be a challenge, and there's not much more that can be said here without breaking 'the rules'. When the Hunt is over, sproutcm can offer some substantial direction, but while the Hunt is ongoing, it goes against the entire principle. So keep trying, keep up the effort, spend more time on these if you really want to earn this. Wishing you the best of luck. |
